Gaki no tsukai english4/15/2023 ![]() If you want to contribute you can do as much or as little as you like, any bit helps. And by hosting them on github, you don't need to reserve or coordinate work, or commit to timing a whole episode. ![]() So what I'm hoping is that people will download the subs, watch them in Aegisub, and maybe spend 10-30 minutes fixing up the sub so that way the next person who comes along will have a slightly better experience and keep the ball rolling. TL DR: The idea is to get a mostly understandable sub from an AI, then have people watch through with it, make a few edits to improve it, and quickly end up with a finished sub without any one person having to do a ton of work.Ī group are transcribing and translating Gaki episodes with OpenAI's Whisper, they're by no means anywhere near the quality of a good subber yet, but most of the work that needs to be done on them is rewriting understandable English lines into something more natural and timing/style setting stuff that anyone can do without any Japanese knowledge. ![]() Edit: There are over 650 AI subs thanks to chikichikitube and BuckwildBabycakes, if you'd like to edit and improve them you can do so here, though completely new editors may find it easier to work with subs that have already been touched up by a human.
